Our Company
Property Professor’s main goal is to inform and educate you on the condition of a property by means of a thorough inspection, detailed report, and clear communication. All with the highest regard for professionalism, integrity, and the use of technology.
Craig Funabashi is the founder and principal inspector at Property Professor. He brings nine years of home and property inspection experience, and is recognized as one of the State of California’s most respected property inspectors.
Craig is a Master CREIA Inspector (MCI #0084). The highest title an individual can achieve as a member of the prestigious California Real Estate Inspection Association.
After joining CREIA’s West Los Angeles/South Bay Chapter as a candidate member in 1997, he passed the entrance exam to become a certified (qualified) member, and was elected and or served the years following as a Chair/member of various committees, Secretary, Vice President, and ultimately Chapter President for 2000-2001. He recently served as Treasurer for the 2004-05 term.
He was elected twice and served two consecutive terms (2002-03 and 2003-04) on the State Board of Directors, as Regional Director representing the West Los Angeles/South Bay and Orange County Chapters.
He currently serves on CREIA’s Exam Committee, and has since 2001. As an active member of this committee, he writes, evaluates, and approves the questions for the tests that candidates and advancing members must pass to receive their membership designation and credentials.
Craig was originally certified in November 1996 and February 1997 through Inspectech’s comprehensive Home Inspection Training and Apprentice Programs, taught by highly regarded, nationally recognized instructors. He has been both a franchise owner and manager/employee of Inspectech/LandAmerica, and was actively involved in the growth and success of the company, including the training of new inspectors.
He has performed nearly 3000 inspections, and continues to obtain continuing education credits well above the minimum of 30 units required annually by CREIA. In fact, many credits earned by other inspectors have been from formal seminars and “roundtable” discussions that Craig has personally led. Additionally, hundreds of real estate professionals have learned from attending California Department of Real Estate (DRE) approved training classes that Craig has taught.
